Shaun Teasdale was unlucky not to win a medal in the men's individual compound archery event at the Commonwealth Games.

He qualified in sixth place for the competition and worked his way through the draw despite the steamy conditions.

Teasdale, 21, was eliminated in the semi-finals, narrowly losing to Duncan Busby of England, 6-2.

He only had a couple of minutes rest before going back on the range in a bronze medal shoot-off against Seppie Cilliers of South Africa.

Teasdale and Cilliers split the first two sets 29-29, before the South African edged ahead, taking the third set 29-28.

The fourth set was split 29-29. Teasdale had to win the fifth and final set to keep his chances alive, but lost 29-28.
