Cordons in central Christchurch will be further reduced on Friday.
Part of zone six, outside the red zone, encompassing parts of Cambridge Terrace, Kilmore, Manchester and Peterborough Streets is to open at midday.
The area is mostly residential.
People will be able to re-enter properties that are green and yellow-stickered.
Further assessment still needs to be carried out on red-stickered buildings.
