No major incident involving Ryder, says NZ Cricket

New Zealand cricket says it is reasonably satisfied there was no major alcohol-related incident involving Jesse Ryder in South Africa, where he's playing for Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

The star batsman has told his manager Aaron Klee that he is disappointed with himself for breaking his pledge not to drink, after staying off alcohol for more than three months.

Klee and Bangalore coach Ray Jennings say reports of security guards having to restrain Ryder are grossly exaggerated and there is no issue.

Aaron Klee says Bangalore is very happy with Ryder's professionalism and attitude.

New Zealand Cricket says it is continuing to work with Ryder and his support team to ensure there is continuing, appropriate encouragement for him to stay off alcohol.
