A person has been found dead at a rural property in the South Island town of Tākaka.
The body was found on Pigville Road about 4pm on Tuesday.
Police will be at the scene overnight and a scene examination is underway.
A post mortem was expected to be completed in the next few days, police said.
Formal identification was yet to take place.
