Auckland Transport is considering gating more train stations in order to crack down on people not paying for fares.
Nearly 5 percent of commuters are evading fares and gating is being considered at a further nine stations depending on funding.
The Britomart, Newmarket and Manukau stations are currently gated, and New Lynn is due to be later this month.
Auckland Transport said it had additional security at 14 high-risk stations, and Pacific wardens have been employed, in addition to Maori wardens.
It said there had been isolated incidents at stations involving teenagers fighting and drinking around stations, and evading fares.
