Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has released a new nasal mask to treat obstructive sleep apnea in the home.
At an investor day in Sydney, the health products manufacturer said the Pilairo Q nasal mask has been designed with a focus on quietness and versatility.
Like the existing Pilairo mask, the new mask includes the effective seal as a result of the air-pillow which self-inflates with continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, flow and the one-size-fits-most adjustment-free, stretchwise headgear.
However, the new mask comes with an alternative adjustable version of the headgear.
The Pilairo Q also offers ultra-quiet use to eliminate the chance of the OSA patient disturbing their partner.
