Richie McCaw may be in London, ready to defend the Rugby World Cup, but a giant painting of the All Black captain is now gracing a wall in Taupo.
Street artist Tane Lawless has painted a giant mural of a serious looking McCaw next to the words All Blacks.
The painting is on the side of a building on the corner of Ruapehu Street and Paora Hapi Street, in the centre of town.
It went up as part of the Graffiato Street Art Festival, held last weekend.
Graffiato organisers said they had no idea Tane Lawless was going to paint McCaw.
They said it was a brilliant surprise and a very fitting tribute to the rugby legend.
The artwork is already becoming a much talked about attraction in Taupo and a perfect photo opportunity for those who have not met the man in person.
