A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in the main street of Thames and a cyclist has died in Christchurch.
The Thames crash happened in Queen St just after midday yesterday.
An 82-year-old man was taken to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition but later died.
Police say an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, but they are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Meanwhile, a person has died following a crash in Christchurch last night.
Emergency services were called to the incident involving a cyclist and motorist in Addington on Brougham Street, just before 8pm.
A police spokesperson said the cyclist was taken to hospital in a critical condition where they later died.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
