A large hole under a highway in the Far North is causing problems for motorists.
State Highway 10 north of Kaeo has been reduced to one lane because of a 2m wide and 5m deep hole under the road's surface.
The Transport Agency said it appeared to be a tomo - a cavity caused by a build-up of underground water.
Spokesperson Jacqui Hori-Hoult said a camera would be put down to assess the hole before it was repaired.
Motorists were asked to drive carefully past the site.
