There are delays for some patients needing scans at American Samoa's LBJ Hospital with a partial withdrawal of labour by the clinic.
The head of the Imaging Department Vaanatiu Toafala Iafeta is reported to have stopped all after hours and weekend scans until the hospital ends mandatory cuts to staff hours.
Earlier this year the government, to save money, cut public servants hours by 10 each fortnight.
Vaanatiu has sent an email saying there will be no computerized tomography, or CT, scans after 4:30pm, nor the weekends.
He has said this will be in place until his staff are again being paid for their full 80 hours per pay period, as well as for overtime.
