Niue's new Chief Justice, Judge Patrick Savage, has been sworn in at a ceremony in the New Zealand capital, Wellington.
Judge Savage replaces Wilson Isaac as the island's main judge.
He was sworn in by the New Zealand Governor-General, Sir Anand Satyanand, who is also the Governor-General of Niue.
Judge Savage has been a judge on New Zealand's Maori Land Court since 1995 and is the resident judge for the Waiariki district in the Bay of Plenty.
He was previously the province's crown solicitor.
