The New Zealand Pacific Access Category quotas are being drawn by ballot today.
A total of 650 places are available under the Pacific Access Category for nationals from Tonga, Fiji, Tuvalu and Kiribati.
Immigration New Zealand says about 12,000 registrations were received this year.
The results of the ballot will be announced next Friday at which point the successful registrants will need to show they have an acceptable job offer from a New Zealand employer.
There are another 1,100 places available under the Samoan Quota for Samoan nationals and that is due to be drawn on 28 June.
