13:44 pm on 10 June 2015

In Samoa, the US international service organisation, the Peace Corps and the Apia-based regional environmental group SPREP will today sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the region's response to climate change.

The head of Peace Corps, director Carrie Hessler-Radelet, is scheduled to pay the Head of State a courtesy call before the signing.

Mrs Hessler-Radlet taught English as a Peace Corp volunteer at Samoa's Paul VI College in the early 1980s.
