Dunedin might be best known for its guitar bands, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find the gothic city has a lot to offer the dancefloor too.

Named after the Edvard Munch painting, not the Verlaines hit of the same name like many assume, one of the Dunedin's latest and greatest offerings is Death and the Maiden, whose lineup includes members from Thought Creature and Bad Sav.

Taking cues from the clubs of Berlin, and Dunedin’s well loved mid-winter raves, the trio of Hope Robertson, Lucinda King and Danny Brady have just released their dark, propulsive debut long player through Fishrider Records. They chat to Music 101's Emma Smith about their musical journey thus far.
