Two in custody after Pukekohe District Court lockdown

A South Auckland district court had to go into lockdown after reports of two people with a firearm.

A police spokesperson said police responded to reports of two people in a vehicle pointing what appeared to be a guns towards two other people outside Pukekohe District Court about 11am.

The court went into lockdown for a short time, and an Eagle helicopter found the vehicle believed to be involved travelling on Aka Aka Road, the spokesperson said.

Armed officers took two people into custody.

A BB gun had also been found.

Charges were being considered, police said.
