An Air France plane bound for the United States has been able to take off from French Polynesia despite a strike by some airline staff.
It was uncertain if services could be assured over the Easter holiday period because some unions are on strike for better conditions.
However, the aircraft due to leave on Good Friday managed to depart, but the public broadcaster said for security reasons dozens of passenger were forced to stay in Tahiti.
It reported that only four of the 11 cabin crew expected for the flight were present.
Air France asked its passengers in Tahiti to liaisie with its office for information about tomorrow's planned flight.
The union said conditions being offered in mainland France were far superior.
