Highlanders sign England loose forward

12:25 pm on 3 November 2011

The Highlanders signing of England loose foward James Haskell is the major signing of significance revealed in the announcement of the New Zealand Super rugby squad's for next season.

The movement of All Blacks and other key players had already been announced prior to today's release of squads.

The 26-year-old Haskell was part of the England squad at the World Cup and will join the Highlanders after a stint at Japan's Ricoh Black Rams.

Haskell, who's played 42 Tests, was one of several England players to get in trouble during the tournament.

He was reprimanded by England manager Martin Johnson for making lewd comments to a female hotel employee while the side was staying in Dunedin.
