State Highway 5 in Bay of Plenty has reopened following a bush fire.
A police spokesperson said the fire, in Waiotapu, Rotorua, had earlier closed both ends of Waiotapu Loop Road.
Detours were in place and motorists were been advised to avoid the area.
The Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland was also evacuated as a precaution.
Fire crews have since left the scene and all roads have reopened.
