A 34-year-old man has been charged with burglary and arson after a fire at an hotel in central Auckland.
The arrested man is due to appear in the District Court in Auckland on Monday.
The Football Ferns squad and support staff were among the guests evacuated from the Pullman Hotel at Waterloo Quadrant last night when fire broke out.
New Zealand Football said the fire was not targeted at the Football Ferns, FIFA or the FIFA Women's World Cup.
It confirmed all the players and staff were safe and accounted for.
Seven fire trucks and around 26 firefighters attended the incident.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told RNZ on Saturday night multiple fires were burning inside the building.
The hotel is the New Zealand team's base for the FIFA Women's World Cup.
