Fu Wah International has submitted its plans to the Auckland Council's urban design panel.

Its New Zealand manager, Richard Aitken, said it would lodge resource consent applications in two or three months.

Fu Wah plans another four-star hotel on the hectare of freehold land it owns in the Wynyard Quarter.

Mr Aitken said that amounted to $500 million of investment.

He said the five-star Park Hyatt build was on time, but a subcontractor shortage pushed up Auckland construction prices.
