The Wellington Blaze have confirmed their place in a seventh straight T20 cricket final.
They've claimed the top qualifier berth with a comfortable, eight-wicket win over Northern Brave.
In a match reduced to 17 overs per side, Blaze's victory at the Basin Reserve came courtesy of a Melie Kerr half century as the White Ferns and Blaze captain made an unbeaten 73 off 49 balls, to chase down Brave's 118/8.
The Blaze has won four of the past six finals, with the Canterbury Magicians pipping them in 2020/21 and again last summer.
But the heat is now on the Magicians to qualify for the sudden death second against third elimination final with the Central Hinds and Otago Sparks both ahead of the Magicians on the ladder.
The Blaze still have one more round robin match to play, against Canterbury, next Monday before the grand final on January 28th.
