Sport: Guam footballer fails doping test

The world governing body of football, FIFA, has provisionally suspended a Guam international after he failed a doping test.

FIFA says the unnamed player was tested after the World Cup qualifier between Oman and Guam on March 24.

The provisional suspension covers all types of matches and officially opens disciplinary proceedings.

The substance which tested positive has not been identified, nor has the player, with FIFA saying its anti-doping rules state further information may only be disclosed after a hearing process.
