Stosur fails again at Wimbledon

Wimbledon has again proved to be an unhappy hunting ground for Australia's French Open tennis finalist Samantha Stosur.

Stosur, the 6th seed lost her opening match 6-4 6-4 to Estonia's Kaia Kanepi, so she still hasn't got past the third round at Wimbledon in eight attempts.

Yesterday her conqueror at last month's French Open, Italy's Francesca Schiavone also made a first round exit.

But the men's world number one Rafael Nadal, who missed the defence of his title last year, looked like he had never been away during a ruthless 6-2 6-4 6-4 win over the highly-regarded 20 year old Japanese Kei Nishikori.

The men's fourth seed Britain's Andy Murray overcame a nervy start to post a straight sets win over the Czech outsider Jan Hajek.
