Auckland international course shut

16:22 pm on 8 May 2014

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority has shut down two business programmes at an Auckland school for international students.

Business students at Regent International Education Group were told their school has lost its NZQA accreditation for two courses and those students have to find another school.

A scathing NZQA report in 2010 questioned the school's marking of business papers, and tutors said some students without good English language skills were being allowed to take the papers.

Regent International said the deregistration affected only a small number of students, who had been moved to another provider.

Other programmes were unaffected.
