Police are attending an incident at a property Half Moon Bay in Auckland where a person has been found dead.
In a statement, police said they were in the early stages of the investigation at an address on Casuarina Road and local residents would see an increased police presence.
Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua, of Counties Manukau CIB, said they were working to establish what had happened and police were speaking with a person at the address.
"Police remain on the scene and cordons are in place as we work to establish exactly what has occurred," he said on Monday evening.
Police would provide the community with updates as they came to hand, he said.
Casuarina Road is closed between Liam and Medina Places.
A scene guard would remain in place overnight and a scene examination would get underway on Tuesday, he said.
