A new video explaining how victims can be expected to be treated by the justice system has been released.
The video is aimed at boosting support and awareness for victims of crime, as part of an initiative launched by Justice Minister Amy Adams last year.
It was created by the Ministry of Justice in consultation with the police, Corrections and Victim Support.
Ministry of Justice spokeswoman Alison Hill says victims can sometimes be overwhelmed with information, and that the video will improve the way that information is given to victims.
Ms Hill says the video will be posted on the the ministry's victims' information website.
She says other initiatives include a 24-hour victim support help line.
