Police have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead in West Auckland this morning.

Police said emergency services were called to the property on Great North Road in Henderson around 1.30am today.
Detective Inspector Aaron Proctor of Waitematā Police said officers were speaking with a number of people.
They were also carrying out a search of a property on Norcross Avenue which is near Great North Road and were also speaking to people in the area.
He said police were working hard to establish the circumstances of what had occurred.
A scene examination was under way, and police said they expected the body to be identified and a post-mortem to be conducted tomorrow.
