Four people in Papua New Guinea have been arrested, including a policeman, over a second attempt to bribe a senior investigator.
Senior Sergeant Apollos Terry is heading a transnational crime investigation into suspected human trafficking and visa and passport racketeering.
Earlier this month a Chinese national, Zhiyuan Cui, also known as Aaron, was arrested and charged after he tried to bribe Mr Terry with over $US4,000.

Mr Cui is the managing director of a passport and visa agency.
Police now say another bribery attempt has been made with a man from the Central Province allegedly offering Mr Terry over $US40,000 or 100,000 kina to drop the case.
Mr Terry restrained the man and told him to call the person who gave him the money and arrange for a meeting.
The person arrived along with Mr Cui and both were detained for questioning and expected to be charged soon.
During questioning the suspects alleged two policemen received $US15,000 from them to help stop the case.
One of the policeman was arrested and money was found on him and at his residence at the Bagita Police Barracks.
