A man directing traffic at a closed road in Waikato has died after being hit by a truck on Sunday morning.
The crash happened on State Highway 23 near the intersection with Cogswell Road, about halfway between Raglan and Whatawhata, about 8am.
The highway was already closed due to previous weather events, when a truck working nearby struck the man and killed him.
Police said support was being given to workers who were on site.
They said circumstances of the crash were being investigated.
