An anti-nuclear activist is pointing the finger at New Zealand's silence over Japan's plan to discharge more than one million tonnes of treated radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean.
Japan may start the discharge as early as next week, following a report from the United Nations' nuclear watchdog that found it complies with international standards.
But anti-nuclear activists aren't convinced it's safe, and say Aotearoa's nuclear free stance means it should be challenging the plan.
