The Breakers have lost their leading scorer, Anthony Lamb, for the remainder of the Australian NBL season.

Lamb was injured in the first quarter of Sunday's win over the Perth Wildcats and has been ruled out for the rest of the year after it was confirmed he will need surgery on an Achilles tear.

The import forward was averaging 19.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the Breakers as the Auckland based side pushes towards a play-off spot.

Lamb's is the latest in a long list of injuries picked up by Breakers this season.

The Breakers have four regular season games remaining, starting with a clash with the Illawarra Hawks on Friday in Auckland, and will need to win three games to make it into the top six and the post-season.

Coach Mody Maor was pleased his side held firm when Lamb was sidelined against the Wildcats

"We've lost players in games, we've lost players in between games, this is the first game all year that I had my full roster and that was for a quarter so we know how to overcome this we know how to respond to this we know how to play like this."
