Erakovic comes up short in Quebec final

The New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic has been outgunned in the final of the WTA Challenge event in Quebec City, going down in three sets to the Czech Republic's Barbora Zahlavova Strycova.

Erakovic, ranked 85th in the world, came out of the blocks firing to take the first set 6-4 but fell apart after the change losing the second set 6-1 before being crushed 6-0 in the third to hand the title to the 75th ranked Czech.

But the Aucklander is likely to climb as many as 23 places in the world rankings to 62nd.
