While here, he will visit Kaikōura and Wellington.

After a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister, Bill English, and the Foreign Minister, Gerry Brownlee, he will talk with the Labour leader, Andrew Little.

The main topic is likely to be Britain's exit from the European Union and a possible trade deal between the two countries.

Mr Johnson will dedicate the United Kingdom War memoral at the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park tomorrow, and visit the Zealandia wildlife sanctuary in the capital on Tuesday.

In Kaikōura, Mr Johnson will thank the community who helped 200 Britons in the aftermath of the earthquake in November 2016, by providing food and shelter.

He leaves New Zealand on Tuesday.
