The president of American Samoa's Tausani Airlines, which was incorporated two years ago to begin flights to the Manu'a islands, says it is still waiting for Federal Aviation Administration clearance.
The airline president, Filifaatali Mike Fuiava, said the refurbished Britten Norman Islander aircraft they have leased off the government is ready for FAA inspection but that hasn't happened yet.
The government had taken the aircraft back from Inter-Island Airways which had failed to get services to Manu'a off the ground.
Filifaatali said everything is in order for the airline but the FAA hasn't given any indication when a team will come to American Samoa to inspect the aircraft.
