Sri Lanka and India have both suffered injury blows ahead of the Cricket World Cup.
The Sri Lankan fast bowler Dhammika Prasad has been ruled out of the tournament after suffering a fractured hand at training.
The injury is expected to keep him out of action for four weeks, and the team will name a replacement subject to the approval of the ICC's event technical committee.
No decision on a replacement has yet been made.
Sri Lanka have fast bowlers Shaminda Eranga and Dushmantha Chameera on standby, but may go with a batsman after they struggled in the recent series against New Zealand.
Meanwhile the Indian pace bowler Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the World Cup due to a knee injury and will return to India.
Mohit Sharma, who is travelling in Australia with the team, is likely to take his place in the side, subject to the approval of the ICC's event technical committee.
The injury had kept Ishant away from competitive cricket for more than a month.
He last bowled in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne in December.
