Envoy offers condolences to Fiji soldier's family

The British High Commission in Suva has expressed its condolences to the family of a Fiji soldier who was killed while serving with the British Army in Afghanistan.

Private Joseva Vatubua, 24, grew up in Fiji but joined the British army in 2007.

He died in an explosion on New Year's Day while targeting enemy positions in Helmand province.

British High Commissioner Mac McLachlan visited Private Vatubua's family on Wednesday.
