One person has died after a collision between a motorcycle and car in Dunedin.

The police say they were called to the intersection of Brighton and Viscount roads in the Dunedin suburb of Waldronville, just before 1pm.
Police the road was closed with diversions in place while the serious crash unit examined the scene.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
