A body has been found on the shore of Ocean Beach in Hastings on Sunday morning.
Police said the person was yet to be formally identified but they believed it was a man who was last seen in trouble in the water on Friday.
A search for him had continued since then.
Formal identification and a post-mortem will be carried out on Monday.
