Doctors in Solomon Islands have been calling on patients to bring their own medication because of a critical shortage at the country's national referral hospital.
In posts on social media one local doctor advised asthma patients to bring their own salbutamol solution to use in the hospital Emergency Department because they had "used up the last bottle".
In another post doctors also said morphine had run out at the hospital and alluded to a case in which a patient who had suffered a heart attack over the weekend had not been given any pain killers at all.
