GeoOp defends slower sales growth

07:31 am on 24 January 2014

Internet-based labour management company GeoOp is defending the slowdown in sales growth in the last quarter, saying it was more focussed on gearing the business for growth.

It added 800 new paying users in the December quarter, taking total users to 5300. However, growth has slowed from the September quarter, when it added 2200 paying users over the six months from March 2013.

Chief executive Leanne Graham says the last quarter was marked by a $10 million capital raising and stock exchange listing, and a focus on building a platform for the future.

She says the company has increased the size of its development team, carried out three product releases in the last quarter and established growth in its sales team both in New Zealand and internationally.

Ms Graham predicts that 2014 will be a big year for businesses understanding what it's possible for them to do with their staff in the field.

She is confident of reaching the target of 6000 to 7000 users by 30 June.
