Invercargill is getting a cash injection from the Provincial Growth Fund, but they'll have to pay it back.
The government is lending the city $19.5 million to kick-off a $165 million redevelopment of the inner city, with Regional Development Minister Shane Jones saying it could bring in 500 jobs during the construction phase and another 300 in hospitality once it's done.
