Two men accused of poaching 16 geckos from the Otago Peninsula reappeared in court on Wednesday morning.
Mexican chef Gustavo Toledo-Albarran and Swiss stockbroker Thomas Price, each face one charge of hunting jewelled geckos and one charge of possessing them.
They did not enter a plea and will reappear in the Christchurch District Court on 3 March.
A German man connected to the same offences, Manfred Bachmann, has already pleaded guilty to posession of 16 rare lizards and will be sentenced on the same day.
