A group supporting the ban on Police wearing uniforms in the Auckland pride parade says businesses who pull out of sponsorship are effectively blackmailing the gay community. Emmy Rākete from People Against Prisons Aotearoa is part of a group of people who told Auckland Pride's board that the Police should not march in uniform. The board agreed, and since then the decision has divided the LGBTQI community. So far Vodafone, BNZ, ANZ, Westpac, NZME, the Ponsonby Business Association, NZDF and the Rainbow New Zealand Trust have all withdrawn support for the parade. Emmy Rākete is a spokesperson for People Against Prisons Aotearoa. She joins us in the studio.
