A man has been injured in a crash in the Karangaheke Gorge near Paeroa involving a suspected stolen vehicle.
A car and a minivan, suspected to have been stolen, collided in the gorge just after 2am on Friday.
The 37-year old driver of the car was injured and flown by helicopter to Waikato Hospital hospital, where he is under assessment.
It's believed the minivan contained up to six people who all fled the scene.
