One person died and one was injured following a crash on a highway in Tauranga this morning.
Police said the two vehicle crash happened just after 6.35am on State Highway 29A, about 1km north of the Maungatapu roundabout.
One person died at the scene and a second person was transported to hospital in a moderate condition, police said.
The road was closed as a result of the crash but had reopened by early afternoon.
"Police thank motorists for their patience," a statement said.
"The investigation into the crash is ongoing."
