The demolition of the Copthorne Hotel in central Christchurch resumed on Friday after being suspended when part of the building collapsed unexpectedly.
Seven floors of the hotel came down on 28 September and forced demolition workers to run for safety.
Work was stopped while the site was made safe and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment lifted its work ban.
A wrecking ball attached to a crane was used to bash into the two remaining concrete walls. A small crowd gathered to watch the building come down.
