The latest statististics on dengue in American Samoa show the number of people infected with the disease is dropping.
Around 700 cases of dengue were confirmed in the territory in last year.
The territory is continuing to run an awareness campaign and is taking the results of its research on dengue to interested groups.
The Medical Director at the Department of Health, Dr Ivan Tuliau, says the latest dengue figures look promising.
"So we're looking at from 96 in december, 200+ in November coming down to 96 in December. In January we're looking at 80 cases total as of January 31st. So from January 2008 to January 2009 we're looking at a total of 747 cases and we're hoping that we're on the downslope of the epidemic."
