For the first time, Tuvalu's Parliament proceedings have been streamed live on social media.

Papua New Guinea TV executive Richard Broadbridge helped facilitate this week's livestream.

He said being so remote meant it could take days before the world heard about changes affecting a small country like Tuvalu.

Staff from the Tuvalu Broadcasting Corporation had undergone two months of training to prepare them for the streaming.

Wednesday's livestream on Facebook (Tuvalu.TV) was a prelude to next month's launch of the island's first digital TV platform owned by the state via TVBC.
