As Covid-19 spreads around the world, it can be daunting keeping up with the information. There have been more than 2600 approvals for inter-regional travel on compassionate grounds since the country went into lockdown.
Of those, 1768 were approved under alert level four and a further 895 under level three. 255 applications were denied.
The National Crisis Management Centre is responsible for inter-regional travel.
Exemptions include supporting a minor who needs urgent care, supporting a person in a critical or terminal condition and the need to support a person with exceptional health or care needs.
