The New Zealand share market closed down five points, or 0.16%, to 3116 on Wednesday. Turnover was $60 million.
Telecom stocks were down 1 cent to $2.70 per share, Fletcher Building slipped 2c to $8.02, while Contact Energy rose 6c to $6.02.
Sky City Entertainment fell 5c to $3.19, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare was down 3c to $3.35, but Sky Network Television rose 4c to $4.55.
Briscoe Group was up 5c at $1.20 on doubling its half-year profit to $6.6 million.
Other retailers saw increases, with Freightways up 11c to $3.17 and Pumpkin Patch gaining 3c to $1.90.
